January are you done yet?
It’s always the same, post Christmas blues hit and January seems like the longest month to face the earth. The trauma doesn’t end there, a long month means an even more painful wait for payday.
When the festive money hoover has been and gone, one hell of a hole is left in our bank accounts – leaving us watching every single penny and I mean every penny. The need for eating out gets stronger, the invites to venture out increase and that little kill joy voice in your head repeats “you ain’t got any money hun”. It’s always a killer but there’s a light at the end of the January tunnel.
Tomorrow see’s a new month and with it brings a bargain for all north-east foodies. *Grabs speaker phone* Forks at the ready – Aberdeen Restaurant Week is on the approach!
Running from tomorrow until the 8th – some of the best Aberdeen eats have teamed up to bring a week of fantastic food showcasing what our granite city has to offer.
We all know how I feel about spending money on dining out but not even I can say no to the absolute bargains that are being served (literally). With two course lunches for £10 and a three course dinners for £20.18 (precise right!?) you really can’t turn your nose up at that. A perfect week to eat out post pay day offering limited burn to that bank account and an unbeatable perk to start February on the right foot.
Be transported to the orient with Pan Asia, eat the best of our local shores with Moonfish or spice up your life with Topolabamba – you need no passport for this ultimate food journey. Restaurant week is inclusive for all, it may be a date night at the intimate Cafe 52 or a meal out with the squad at McGinty’s – all vibes are covered.
And to make it even better, booking is simple. All you have to do is choose your venue, phone to book your table (or just rock up if you’re impulsive) and quote “Aberdeen Restaurant Week” to take advantage of the offer.
Check out the restaurant week website here for the full list of eats and browse your way through the menus. Julia is eating her way round the sign ups as the week’s official blogger, check out her blog posts and her instagram to help pin down your stops (FYI you’ll drool).
Don’t miss this inaugural week for Aberdeen – experience something new, discover hidden gems and I guarantee you’ll leave with a new Aberdeen favourite.
Excuse me while I go raid my cupboard, I need to find me my eating jeans!
